  5. This is such a great idea and I have the perfect project for it. Just wondering I've always been told to quilt from the middle out - I wondered what you thought about this - and also what batting are you using - it looks so soft and squishy!

    1. Hi Rachael, that's a really good question.

I think for my small project it was ok to quilt from end to end. But, it would definitely be a good idea to quilt this from the middle out on larger projects. You really don't HAVE to start at a corner, just start where ever is easiest for you. It's a pretty versatile technique.

      Thank you :)

    2. Oh, and, I used a dacron filling that was too fluffy - it's about 2cm/3-quarter inch pile, but soft. I'd recommend using something thinner, like 1.5cm/half inch thick at most.

Test a few scraps out to see if you'd want to make the lines closer together or not. Different battings react differently. Cotton doesn't like to be quilted too close together, but others still drape well when quilted heavily.

  10. I have been working on a "family memories"quilt for several years-a quilt with pictures of my family transferred onto fabric-and you just gave me the perfect type of quilting for the quilt. Could you send me your e-mail address so I can get the PDF directions and I'll send you pictures of my quilt-in progress.
