About Me

Hi there, I'm Holly May.

I'm a New Zealander doing life in the United States.  I paint, sew, crochet and craft - when I'm not I running around after my kiddos, doing dishes (worst job ever), washing and all the rest of it...

I have been married for 8 years, my husband and I have two awesome kiddos, I paint, draw and sew any spare moment I get.  I love to quilt: it's a new-found love since moving to the States.  I love to design and make clothes.  I wear something made by myself almost every single day.

I was almost pregnant with our firstborn when our home, Canterbury, New Zealand, experienced their big 7.1M earthquake in 2010.  I was about 4 or 5 months pregnant when we experienced the 'big one' on February 22nd, 2011.  I haven't written much about it and I don't think I ever will.

I began blogging when I was pregnant with my first kiddo (so many things happened around my first pregnancy!).  I was looking for others' stories in the blogging world who were in the same pregnant 'state' as me.  Inspiration hit and here I am.

From January 2014, my family had been in the process of immigrating to the US.  Basically, just waiting for the immigration visas to come through.  It was a long, emotional 8 months of being one family in two countries.

My husband was in the US two months later, and our oldest son and I had been waiting in New Zealand until we were allowed to go.  The waiting and not-knowing-when time apart was simply an awful, awful, awful 8 months, and I shared some of my ups and downs here.  Along the journey of waiting I began painting and drawing encouraging scriptures intentionally most days, which led me to do all the painting I do now. It was a sharpening time in my life, God was creating a new spirit within me.

We arrived in the States on the 26th of November, 2014 and drove to Arizona on Thanksgiving Day.  Arriving just in time to have dinner at my husbands' Aunt and Uncles house.

Now we are officially living in AZ, USA.

And last, but by far not least, I am a believer in Jesus Christ.  He is my Lord and Saviour.

I hope you enjoy your stay.  :)
